The press release I linked to is dated April 2, and looking around the VeggieTales Wikipedia page and its sources, Phil Vischer had tweeted about this in March. I also found a TBN press release dated April 4. Unless something changes, VeggieTales is coming back.
Let’s see if I can put his tweet here:
New TV series in production with TBN. New movie in development at Universal. Iâm involved in both!

My favorite hymn of today is Isaac Watt’s classic “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”. It’s a beautiful hymn about being in awe at Jesus’s sacrifice and responding with worship, quoting Galatians 6:14 in one of the verses.
I’m not coming up with a good butterfly-related pun to respond with, and that bugs me… but it’s neat that you might be able to transform an Aux Cable reference into a story for school.
BROOKE-ING NEWS: VeggieTales is coming back this fall, thanks to TBN (supposedly with the original animation and storytelling style, but that part wasn’t directly mentioned in the press release): http://christiannewswire.com/news/8942582449.html
HAPPY APPRECIATION STATION DAY! đ
Thank you to all the F.A.C.E.s who helped make the fancast, whether directly or indirectly!
To the Tune of Masønâs unlisted âDo You Want to Build a Snowmanâ lip sync, from the perspective of yours trubely:
[Present day]
F.A.C.E.s?
(*knocks*)
Do you want to make a podcast?
Come on; Letâs go record!
I never hear you anymore,
Please donât ignore;
I want you all on boardâŚ
We used to be best buddies,
And we still are
Despite the long hiatusâŚ
Do you want to make a podcast?
(It doesn’t have to be a podcastâŚ)
âGo to bed, Jeffâ
Okay⌠butâŚ
[Flashback to the Beginning of the Hiatus, where the F.A.C.E.s get a present from the show hosts.]
â*gasp*â
âThanosâs glove will help⌠See?â
âDestroy it,â
âDonât enjoy it,â
âHope for a new show.â
[Back to present day]
(*knocks*)
Do you want to make a podcast?
Or film a tribute video?
I think some production is overdue,
I’ve started listening to
The shows from long ago!
(Nice pun there, Chris.)
It gets a little lonely,
Half the house is gone,
Since Thanosâs glove was usedâŚ
(*sounds of disintegration can be heard*)
[Flashback to the hiatus, where the F.A.C.E.s express their concern to the show hosts.]
âWeâre scared; itâs getting longer!â
âGetting upset only makes it worse; calm downâ
âNo! Donât make us! Please⌠We donât want to have to hurt you.â
âSee you in a few months!â
âDo you have to go?â
âYouâll be ffffine, F.A.C.E.s.â
(*Ryan goes and gets married. Matthew goes and doesnât. Everything [EVERYTHING!] grinds to a halt.*)
[Back to present day]
(*knocks*)
F.A.C.E.S?
Please⌠April 1 is coming,
Ryanâs asking what weâve planned,
He says, “I want hints”⌠and I’m buying time
With some fun punny lines,
Just understand:
We have God and each other
Thatâs all we need;
So what are we going to do?
Do you want to make a podcast?
(*The camera pans to show that knocking on the door was a bit unnecessary since part of the wall next to the door had disappeared because of the Infinity Gauntlet*)
Perhaps you’ve heard this classic story before, but probably not told like this:
We don’t want you salty because of us, Ryan… and we don’t want to pepper you with hints lest we ruin the happenings of that thread (which may or may not be what you would guess that they are). We do appreciate that you don’t look at that thread, though. đ
I’m bringing this thread to the forefront of the Not-Forum in order for it to be easier for anyone like Naomi who is new and wants to make an entrance. This is a great place to do it. đ
“Shapes”…The way you phrased your interesting request is
Something that I think could bring out the best if
Limited in scope to some thoughtful audio
That still keeps in sight the entire original
Intent of the event that is Appreciation Station Day…
I’m game; there are plenty of relevant things I could say.
It’s been mentioned before, but my favorite hymn today is “How Great Thou Art”, because God is exceedingly great!
The hymn was originally written in Swedish, translated into German, then into Russian, then into English, with some verses removed and others added. Carl Boberg wrote the original, and Stuart Wesley Keene Hine is responsible for the most popular English version. My favorite verse is one written by Hine, followed by the chorus:
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
“How great Thou art! How great Thou art!”
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
“How great Thou art! How great Thou art!”
Tautology: An expression that says the same thing twice within itself, but in a different way. Sometimes this can be an unintended redundancy or unnecessary repetition, and other times it can be a strategic use of language (often for emphasis).
Let’s suppose I told you, “I am a fanatical F.A.C.E.” The word “Fanatical” is already included in the acronym “F.A.C.E.”, so that sentence is basically “I am a fanatical Fanatical Aux Cable Enthusiast”. Whether intentional or not, the multiple instances of indicating “fanatical” would be a tautology.
(There is another use of “tautology” in formal logic that indicates a statement that must be true in every possible interpretation. However, that’s not the use of the word that I wanted to highlight most in this post.)
Oh, and #BringBackManalive.
We aren’t doing this a third year in a row, are we? Or are we? It’s been a totally different world since the last competition, for only one podcast episode has been released, the greatest fancast of all time was produced, Ryan got married, and Skype has overtaken the Not-Forum as the main hub of F.A.C.E. communication.
We haven’t utilized this thread in over a year… I wonder how close we are to taking over the podcast again…
I’m pretty sure that this is not a meme:
I’m bringing this thread back to the front of the Not-Forum, since it is less than four weeks until Ryan and Matthew Appreciation Station Day, and they ought to think we’re up to something. We might be up to something…and we probably are, but we might not be. But I think they should think we are.
I mean, it’s creative.
Aww…
WAIT A MINUTE! I refreshed the page and I see the meme! That’s a good one, Troy. đ
In regards to Shay’s title, I recently realized that the suggestions of “Ambassador to Nonhuman Entities/Species”, “Commander of Cosplay”, and “Secretary of the Space Force” has the initial letters of ACS, which is also the acronym for “Aux Cable Show”.
I think the first post in this thread is something that potential podcasters would find to be very helpful when starting out.
#1 Rule of Podcasting: Make a podcast.
#2 Rule of Podcasting: Go on hiatus.
#3 Rule of Podcasting: Surprise everyone with a comeback…or don’t. It’s up to you. (The flexibility of this rule is what makes it a surprise.)
We’ve gotten plenty of snow this winter, snow much that a wealthy snowman would have lots of competition for his financial business.
(We have so many snowbanks.)
Also, this thread is an interesting one, for it has had some pretty drastic digressions, but it keeps returning to the main topic.
I think this video relates to this thread somehow:
This parody is to the classic song “Do Everything” by Steven Curtis Chapman.
Youâre showing your F.A.C.E. on the Not-Forum space for the sixteenth time tonight,
Kicking out bots, writing up lots of cheer and thoughts polite.
Reference an apocalypse, sing âI Love My Lipsâ, and head off to Skype.
While I may not gamble, I bet thereâs ample
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?
Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do EVERYTHING you do
To the glory of the One Who made you,
‘Cause He made you
To do every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face.
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do.
Maybe youâre that guy with a nice bow tie, maybe your shirtâs custom-made.
You may be holding your horses, leading armed forces, but at the end of the day
Little stuff, big stuff, in-between stuff, God sees the means and weights,
And while I may not wager, I bet thereâs major
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?
Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do EVERYTHING you do
To the glory of the One Who made you,
‘Cause He made you
To do every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face.
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And EVERYTHING that you do.
Maybe youâre sitting in math class
Or maybe on a mission in Botswana
Or maybe youâre working on a fancast
Writing a pun for âiguanaâ.
Maybe youâre vacationing at Disney
Or proposing on a Model T,
Anywhere and everywhere that you be,
Whatever you do
It all matters.
So do what you do.
Don’t ever forget
To do EVERYTHING you do
To the glory of the One Who made you,
‘Cause He made you
To do every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
As you do EVERYTHING you do
For the glory of the One Who made you,
‘Cause He made you
To do every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you doâŚ
And every little thing you do.
Remembering the Winter Olympics from last year brought back to my memory an instance of Josiah displaying his Latvian flag in one of the early Skype calls. Latvia won a bronze medal that Olympics.
#23728 Turns out Kristen was correct about that biggest F.A.C.E. prediction.
#thatmomentwhen it’s 2/16 once again! Happy Inner Tube Day! (or something like that; I’m still not entirely sure what the holiday to celebrate the Inner Tube on 2/16 or tube/up to 16 now is called.) It’s a great day to remember the podcast that heavily influenced the creation of the Aux Cable.
