In honor of Episode 043’s release, here is a parody of the song “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge, which was referenced in the episode:
We are family,
I got all my F.A.C.E.s with me!
We are family,
Get up ev’rybody and sing!
We are family,
I got all my F.A.C.E.s with me!
We are family,
Get up ev’rybody and sing!
Ev’ryone can see we’re together
As we walk on by,
(Hey) and we fly just like Birds of a feather
Tweeting in the sky.
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say,
“Can they be that close?”
Just let me state for the record:
We’re giving love in a family dose!
We are family,
I got all my F.A.C.E.s with me!
We are family,
Get up ev’rybody and sing!
We are family,
I got all my F.A.C.E.s with me!
We are family,
Get up ev’rybody and sing!
Living life is fun and we’ve just begun
To get our share of puns, jokes, and rhymes
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And the stock of Tyme.
(WE!) no we don’t live depressed
‘Cause we follow the Golden Rule:
Have faith in God and love others too!
You won’t go wrong, oh no,
Using this power tool!
We are family,
I got all my F.A.C.E.s with me!
We are family,
Get up ev’rybody and sing!
We are family,
I got all my F.A.C.E.s with me!
We are family,
Get up ev’rybody and sing!
[repeat chorus as it fades out]
You know what Tony the Tiger says about cereal mascots…
“They’re…pretty solid.” #NotEatTheColdFries
I don’t have much to report back other than Ryan is pretty good at eventually responding to specific questions that I have asked him on the platform.
I’m not sure it’s for everyone, but you may like it, Franklin. I’ll see about sending you the link so you can join and give your opinion.
Random Thought: When Kristen gets caught up on the Aux Cable & Fancasts, maybe there will be an episode where she answers questions from all of us, ‘lightning round’ style…
I give credit to God for the genius of the parody, but moreso for the greater genius that is Lyle the Kindly Viking…
I’m definitely appreciating the script-writing in that show more now than I did back when it first released.
Inspired by Masøn’s parody and Franklin pointing out on Skype that Ryan posted a picture recently from the view of an airplane, I decided to make this parody based upon the beginning song of Lyle the Kindly Viking (hopefully the formatting turns out okay):
[Masøn and Jeff meet at an airport.]
Jeff: Good morning, Masøn. How is your ear?
Masøn: Oh, just fine and dandy. Is Ryan ‘round here?
Jeff: I haven’t seen him, but that’s no surprise.
Masøn: Matthew’s gone too?
Jeff: Mmhmm. They’re out in the skies…
Masøn: They should have listened to our fancast
And carried on with joyous glee…
Jeff: But we picked men of noble class
J&M: Whose lives are so busy!
Jeff: You live and learn…
Masøn: We like their podcast
Jeff: What do you know, the hosts are so busy
Masøn: Their podcast
Jeff: Wherever they go, still living happily
Masøn: Their podcast
Jeff: Let there be no ambiguity
Masøn: Podcast
J&M: ‘Cause
This is our role on the Aux Cable
We have to admit it is right now dull
But that’s the lot we got
When F.A.C.E.s we…
The hosts are so busy
[Ryan and Matthew start walking off of the landed airplane.]
Jeff: Oh, look what the cat drug in…
Masøn: I wonder what they brought back this time…
Matthew: Hey, there’s a list’ner, Ryan!
Ryan: Uh, I think there’s two, Matthew.
Matthew: Oh, boy, do they love us or what?
Ryan: Well, what’s not to love? I mean, after all…
Ryan: They’re F.A.C.E.s
Matthew: What do you know, the list’ners of the show
Ryan: They’re F.A.C.E.s
Matthew: Wherever they go, playing the Aux Cable
Ryan: They’re F.A.C.E.s
Matthew: Let there be no sadness, tears, or woe
Ryan: F.A.C.E.s
R&M: ‘Cause
Ryan: Who doesn’t like a good podcast
Matthew: With answers to questions and lots of laughs
Angie: And a silly ad on top of that?
Ryan: They are fanatical. Yo ho!
R&M: We’re coming!
J&M: What do you know, the hosts return at last
R&M: We’re coming!
J&M: Wherever they go, making a new podcast
R&M: We’re coming!
J&M: Let there be no end to all the laughs
R&M: Coming
All: ‘Cause
R&M: Who doesn’t like a show that’s new
J&M: This is our lot as a list’ner base
R&M: With jokes and puns and answers too
J&M: You have to admit that we have to wait
Angie: And the hosts are Ryan and Matthew
J&M: But that’s the lot we got
When F.A.C.E.s we…
The hosts were so busy
R&M: We made a podcast…
All: Number forty-three!
Oooh, starring role…
Masøn back with a song parody? Yes, please. It’s been since Page 6 of this thread, June 8th of 2017, that we last saw his stellar parody skills in action.
Fun fact: in between song parodies, there have been eight episodes of the Aux Cable published (not including the best fancast of all time) and Episodes 171-207 (37 episodes) of the Inner Tube were released.
Come to think of it, the last parody was before I joined the Not-Forum… that’s way tube long. Glad to see this parody from Masøn today!
Thanks again to all the F.A.C.E.s who helped to make the fancast for Ryan and Matthew Appreciation Station Day!
It really does…
For future F.A.C.E.s who peruse this thread and wonder how everything turned out:
Roses are red
Horses eat hay
Sugar is sweet
HAPPY RYAN AND MATTHEW APPRECIATION STATION DAY!
BROOKE-ING NEWS: HAPPY RYAN AND MATTHEW APPRECIATION STATION DAY!
BROOKE-ING NEWS: Jesus is alive! Happy Resurrection Day! 😀
See…I’m not a Hamilton fan yet because I haven’t looked into it at all. I think the premise of turning American history into a musical can be a great tool in teaching American history, and I’m under the impression that there are numerous witty rhymes in the production, but there’s also some questionable language…
So I’m here, but there may come a day when I won’t be.
My favorite hymn of today is “O Dearest Jesus”, Catherine Winkworth’s translation of Johann Heermann’s excellent hymn “Herzliebster Jesu”. (There is another translation into English from Robert Bridges entitled “Ah, holy Jesus, how hast thou offended”, which is good too.)
Random Thought: Celebrating Good Friday may very well be the only good kind of Schadenfreude.
Do you remember the last fancast, Bekah? We posted it to soundcloud and eventually Ryan and Matthew turned it into an episode and put it on the website.
I wonder what the results were for the 3rd place and Championship matches…
No, not now…wait until April! Just post an episode and stay away from the Not-Forum until April!
Hopefully Ryan and Matthew don’t accidentally see this…
Most likely.
This was a prayer that was composed after Brooke requested prayer on the Skype chat. It is posted here for every F.A.C.E. who did not get to see it, but wishes to pray for her.
Father God, we pray to thee
Grant Brooke peace and sanity,
Courage and grace, hope and wisdom.
May we praise You as she overcomes!
Lord, you love us more than our minds grasp;
Thank you for hearing us when we ask
For something according to Your Will.
We trust in You. You said, “Be still
And know that I am God” in Psalm 46:10
May Your Will be done in Brooke as it is in heaven.
We shall not waver in this prayer; We’re committed to the end.
In Jesus’s name we pray, (let all the F.A.C.E.s say: ) Amen!
I hadn’t considered turning the phrase “One of Us” into the basis of a Christian song, but look what I found:
Excellent.
For all to be aware of: Kristen’s question, “How can I safely live on the sun?” has been answered on the fancast already.
Also, Manalive, whether it’s just you or you and your brother(s) answering the question, stating your name(s), rank(s), and favorite cereal(s) as well as any closing message of appreciation to Ryan and Matthew would be welcomed in the recording.
Good Friday
That third place race looks to be competitive, but I think the giraffe would win if it ends up being neck-and-neck.
The “What even are these?” was taken directly from the last line of the original commercial where Ryan said “What even are we?” It can be edited out if it seems too out of place.
If y’all like the commercial, I’d appreciate it if you’d record the appropriate lines and send them to Franklin so he can edit them in.
Here is my first draft on a commercial for the fancast. It’s based upon Episode 039, the 17:03-20:41 mark. I would like input on what improvements to make to it. I already recorded sample audio for the main character “Kevin”, so getting an imitation station voice isn’t going to be a problem, even if I have to re-record it. Let me know what you think.
We interrupt this fancast to bring you a message from our sponsor:
Hi. I’m Kevin Fear The Man Huge. If you’re anything like me, you love the Aux Cable. I mean, really love the Aux Cable. So much so that you’d consider yourself a Aux Cable Enthusiast, neigh, a Fanatical Aux Cable Enthusiast. But unlike me, you haven’t joined the community of F.A.C.E.s on the Not-Forum yet, located at Auxcableshow.com. Why? You don’t know how to introduce yourself to the fandom. You’re not sure what to say; what if you mess up and reveal that you don’t actually know everything EVERYTHING about the show?
Well, today I’m happy to announce, from the creators of dairy censorship and the patronage thread comes the latest in ffffanatical fffriendship innofffation: Aux Cable Pick-up Puns!
These handy little ice-breakers can be used to start conversation stations with any F.A.C.E. and will get your not-relationships off to a stellar start. Just listen to these testimonials:
Hi, I’m Dawn Glanz and before Aux Cable Pick-up Puns, I was tube timid to join the Not-Forum. Now I have unbridled confidence in being TOPHAT’s Holder of Horses.
Hi, I’m Awkward Potato, but even I didn’t seem awkward when I used a pick-up pun on the Not-Forum. Now I embrace my role as TOPHAT’s official Hug Dealer.
Hi, I’m Josiah the Carrot Stick, and I’ve been here the whole time. But I do like pick-up puns!
Now that you’ve heard the testimonials, here’s a sample of successful pick-up puns:
Wow, you’re so enthusiastic about the sound of Ryan’s voice! You don’t soundboard to me. 🙂
Did you hear about that large flock of female sheep that listen to the Inner Tube? I think it was a Mass Eweb Herd.
Botswana…{I know there’s potential here, but I didn’t come up with one for Botswana yet.}
I traveled into the future and saw Matthew Bird’s baby’s bed. It was nicknamed the Hawks’ Cradle.
That’s just a sample of pick-up puns that can be yours for the low, low price of up to $16 thousand dollars now. That may seem expensive, but they’re cooler than the ice chest pillow and high quality puns like these are priceless.
Guys, let me just take a second to be real with you, and nothing is more real than eating a sandwich.
*chews*
I just finished my sandwich, guys!
Don’t let the F.A.C.E.s down; get Aux Cable Pick-up Puns! Visit the Not-Forum to find out if it’s not for you today.
What even are these?
