Well, actually Josiah, I wasn’t going to bring it up, but since you mentioned it:

    The Identity Crisis Thread

It might be hard to spot, but I think you posted here under a different name.

Well, with your poor punctuation and grammar presented in the form of short, cryptic messages, I think it’s pretty safe to assume who you are.

(You’re not supposed to vote if you’re in a matchup. I’m not sure if Josiah has a mechanism built-in for catching violators of this principle because the voting isn’t taking place on the Not-Forum itself.)

If you know an aspiring clean YouTuber, this might possibly be a podcast that they’d be interested in. Possibly. (The first episode isn’t released yet so I can’t give much of a review on it at this time. However, it already has one thing going for it: branding.)

Tough match-ups all the way around. Excellent job designing the brackets Josiah. 🙂

Sophisticated poll; it asked me to confirm that I’m not a robot before allowing me to cast my vote.

What I recommend, Bekah, is that you post the video (that you’ve worked so hard on but has a watermark) as an unlisted video. Put the link here on the Not-Forum, and then we can give you feedback as to whether it’s worth posting publicly or whether you ought to make adjustments. I don’t recommend doing this type of thing often, but in this particular circumstance, it may help you. Just an idea.

So I just re-read the threads with last year’s FACEoff and I’m thinking that we should have the polling on the Not-Forum for tube reasons:
    1. Caleb Packo & Rex Stauss made appearances in the 1.1 matchup thread. Such a rarity on the Not-Forum at present.
    2. It’s quite interesting to look at the votes and the rationales from the past to think about how much has changed since then.

However, I would consider the alternatives of one thread per round or one new thread for the whole event, if clutter is a concern [for future “Tingle-ing”].

Here is a playlist of the matchup threads from last year’s FACEoff if anyone wants to read them in order without having to locate them (They are all quick reads at present):

Kristen v. Caleb Packo (FACEoff 1.1)

Dawn v. Rex Stauss (March FACEoff 1.2)

Brooke AC v. Joshua Morgan (March FACEoff 1.3)

    Mason M v. TGWThomas (March FACEoff 1.4)

Josiah the Carrot Stick v. Joe Repp (March FACEoff 1.5)

Olive v. riseofthekumquat (March FACEoff 1.6)

    superchris01 v. Awkward Potato (March FACEoff 1.7)

    Ryan's Grandma v. Gabeinthebox (March FACEoff 1.8)

Kristen v. Dawn (March FACEoff 2.1)

Brooke AC v. Masøn M. (March FACEoff 2.2)

Josiah the Carrot Stick v. Riseofthekumquat (March FACEoff 2.3)

    superchris01 v. Ryan's Grandma (March FACEoff 2.4)

Kristen v. Brooke AC (March FACEoff FINAL FOUR MATCH #1)

Josiah the Carrot Stick v. Superchris01 (March FACEoff FINAL FOUR Match #2)

MARCH FACEOFF CHAMPIONSHIP (Kristen v. Josiah the Carrot Stick)

Of course, to trubely appreciate the context of the event, you’ll want to read these threads as well:

    The Biggest Fan?

    March FACEoff

Now that I’ve done all that catching-up, I’m looking forward to seeing how this FACEoff is different and how it turns out. I mean, Franklin managed to go from not even being in the tournament to receiving a vote in the final last time. Quite the unexpected plot twist. 😀

Hmmm…Let me see…Congratulations on your membership in TOPHAT, Joshua! You are accepted into the association because you posted on this thread. 🙂 However, there’s more that needs to be discussed regarding your title proposal.

First let’s examine the titles that already exist in TOPHAT:
    Standard governmental titles include:
President, Attorney General, Chairman of the Board, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Canadian Treasury

Uniquely TOPHAT titles that are based upon references include:
Official Hug Dealer, Groot the Phantom of the Forum, Holder of Horses, H.O.W.D.A.R.E.Y.O.U., Official Minstroll, Strange Guy who Stands Creepily in the Corner Eating a Pickle on a Stick, She of Many Names

Consequently, Joshua, the rank of “Ukulele Player” is temporarily denied on the grounds that it does not fit within the typical TOPHAT title categories at first Glanz (#DawnPun). There are four possible remedies:
Option 1. Give a good explanation of why the title actually does fit within the categories.
Option 2. Adjust the title to fit more within the recommended title categories.
Option 3. Make a new title proposal.
Option 4. Enjoy being a titleless member of TOPHAT (we do have a few of those, but it’s not a recommended position within the association).

As the Honorary Official Wordsmith, Director And Regent Extraordinaire, Yet Operationally Unobtrusive, I would like to propose some potential ideas that might fit better, based upon my limited interactions with you on the Not-Forum and in Mini-Auxcon Skype sessions:
    1. Keeper of the Emoji Pillow
    2. Brusher Of Teeth (abbreviated as B.O.T.)
    3. Judge Joshua
    4. Justice Joshua
    5. Secretary of Homeland Security
    6. Secretary of Homeschool Security
    7. Keeper of Nukes and Ukes

Those are simply my suggestions. Hopefully this helps you, Joshua, to figure out what to propose next as a title for yourself in The Overly Punny Honor Association of Trolls. Other TOPHAT members are welcome to chime in at this time. I think expediency would be appropriate in this circumstance.

I recapped the important parts of the discussion on a different thread. As for the fun parts, I have one quote to share:

According to Brooke, “When in D.C., bring your own food.” [In context, she was referring to the expense of all of it and the questionable quality of some of it.]

I think this means we can rule out having Auxcon in the District of Columbia.

From the office of the H.O.W.D.A.R.E.Y.O.U.:

This is an official invitation for Joshua S. to apply to T.O.P.H.A.T. and propose a title of his desire. Comment #31624 on page 13 of this thread lists the current T.O.P.H.A.T. members and ranks (aside from wileycoyote, who only recently received the title of “Official Minstroll”).

In last night’s marathon Skype call, there were a few ideas discussed for the upcoming fancast. Here are a few of them:

    1. In the previous episode we did, everyone sent in an “EVERYTHING!” In this episode, we are looking at everyone sending a “HAPPY RYAN AND MATTHEW APPRECIATION STATION DAY!” to use in the intro.

    2. The plan is for Kristen to write questions for the show like last time, but if there is any F.A.C.E. who assuredly won’t be able to participate due to [censored] reasons, speak up for the opportunity submit a question for the episode. There should be one question that will involve an answer that has [the four-letter word describing the substance that is ejected by a cow’s udder] used, but censored. (Only one such question will be used in the episode, as we’d rather not have to censor tube much in the episode; it’s quite a bit of editing.)

    3. Rather than individual F.A.C.E.s answering individual questions, we would like to break into groups of two or three to answer questions over Skype (or other collaborative means). During each answer the F.A.C.E.s will be introduced by their T.O.P.H.A.T. rank if applicable (and a different creative intro otherwise). It is recommended that each group have an outline going into their Skype session so that the question gets answered even if there is some sort of digression in the response.

    4. A timer will go off during each question-answer session. (Possibly multiple timers; still unsure about this.) Each timer will be different, and will be a notable clip from the Aux Cable. Suggestions so far have included:
In the arms of aux cable
    Fierce beard
    Andthat’sallthetimewehave…
    Hmm…. (from Josiah)
    Autotune

What we will need is a list of timer suggestions and the applicable timestamps (if from an actual episode). I’m not sure if we ought to have them picked out before the Skype calls themselves or if the editor ought to add them in afterwards and surprise the listening audience.

    5. The commercial idea suggested, according to my notes, involves:
    Pop music
    Carbonation Station
    “Plays all your favorite songs”
    Rickrolling

    6. Toward the end of the episode will be an appreciation station poem composed specially for the occasion. According to my notes, it is tentatively called “All-Star Ryan & Rick Roll Matthew”. Brooke is the head of the poem project.

    7. We want as many F.A.C.E.s (including possibly Angie & Sarah) involved with this project as possible to show Ryan & Matthew maximum gratitude. There were suggestions for “celebrities” that also may be called upon to make appearances in the episode, including Yours Truly, Chris, Corban Garcia, and Rick Astley. However, the main participants we want are the F.A.C.E.s; after all, this is a fancast, not a celebritycast.

This is what we talked about, but there are plenty of ideas that we didn’t discuss or that I either missed or misunderstood. Feel free to bring up more ideas & their implementation in this thread. It’s less than a month before this episode releases, so now is the time to be thinking, planning, praying, contributing, and listening for this project.

The fandom that Skypes together, stays together. 6.5 Hours worth of Skyping saw the appearance of Brooke, Jeff, Josiah, Joshua, Awkward Potato, Bekah, Dawn, Masøn, Explosive Yeast, and Manalive Smith, with a brief greeting from SuperChris01. The most F.A.C.E.s at any particular moment on the call was eight and the fewest being three (two if you count the occasional technical difficulty). So many fun moments that I’ll save any further recap and important details for after church. Time for me to get to sleep. 🙂
