Interesting, so the first Kerfuffle started on the same day that President Trump was sworn in. I actually remember that Friday pretty well because my brother mixed up the time zones and came home from work to watch the inauguration during his lunch break…a whole hour late. Thankfully we DVR’d it so he could watch it anyway.
Thanks to all who laid the groundwork for the Not-Forum’s existence!
How did you come up with the name “CrossNotesMusic ” and how does it fit in with your vision for the channel?

So I’ve been thinking about Masøn & producing videos on YouTube, and here is what I’ve concluded:
Right now, Masøn is one of the best commenters on YouTube. The Bible verse that best explains what he tries to do is Proverbs 15:23, “A man finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!” Reading his comments always seem to enhance the video viewing experience, as he understands the intended audience with each comment he writes.
If he were to branch into video production, it would have to fit into that theme somehow. I don’t think Masøn would gain much satisfaction from making videos unless they fit into a bigger motivation station. They would have to be structured such that anyone [from his intended audience] would finish watching and think, “I am so glad I spent some of my precious time watching Masøn’s video.” I’m not sure what structure or genre or topic or style or factors (or donkeys) would make a Masøn M. video, but I know how it will feel once it’s done. Even a short, fun, lighthearted, timely video from Masøn will have a little bit of substance to it, because he’s made it for his intended audience with purpose.
Maybe I’m being too idealistic, but that’s what I’ve been thinking about today.
The “start with virality” is a myth…you have sufficient popularity from your comments, Masøn. You just need to make sure you’re using the talents God has given you to do your best whenever set forth the vision of your channel and make your first video (if that’s something you decide to do).
(No, Masøn, because your first video will be one that Kumquat will enjoy…guaranteed.)
We’re just throwing ideas out there, Masøn. No pressure to actually create videos, it’s just that your comments are so successful that our natural inclination is to request more and more. I’m sure you’ll produce content if and when you’re actually ready.
Growing up, my family’s favorite from the album was Superchick’s “Water Buffalo Song”.
That’s it! Take out your frustration station into the planning of your own content production. #MotivationStation
That’s a little better.
No! It posted wrong…
Talking about great aunts with facial hair reminds me of this classic rendition of the legendary reference:
Just don’t make a mess like that in your videos…messes like that in real life make me cringe because someone has to clean it up once the video is over.
As Jordan Taylor once said, “Don’t be messy…”
Thumbnail was top-notch…the video itself is one that will probably be privatized after a few months, but it shows great potential. I’ll have to keep my eye on the channel for future excellence.
Fun Fact: Today I was putting some Bankers Boxes together at work and I came to appreciate how high-quality cardboard is worth added cost, especially if it must be put together a certain way.
Being someone’s great aunt at your age would be weirder than you having facial hair…
😀 After reading that remark, I had to go back and see if there was any inkling of a super hero in the song parody of the incident…
The cool thing with Masøn’s brilliant comment skills is that he would be able to develop a solid YouTube community around his work relatively quickly.
The question is more “how to best present Masøn’s brilliance in video form” and not “why would anyone want to watch Masøn?”
Also I noticed that Mason’s comment to the video suggests that he might be releasing content sometime soon?!?
So apparently Troy is one of Kevin’s favorite content creators…#CaseForKumquat
Thanks for checking on us and praying for us, Kristen!
I didn’t help with the episode at all. I helped with the new website tab and Josh & Kevin turned that into an episode all on their own. I did not expect them to do that.
As for time spent on that project, the actual definitions took probably tube hours in aggregate for me to compose and edit (much more time spent on editing than writing). It took additional time to select which jokes I was going to write definitions for, and there was a waiting period to hear back from Corban on what needed adjusting on my end to make the definitions receive Josh’s approval. (Of course, I’m not counting the hours and hours of my life that I’ve spent listening to and documenting the Inner Tube in advance of this project.) Once the website tab went public, I looked at it and gave additional feedback to Corban and he made adjustments during the weekend so that it would be ready for Episode 200.
How do I feel? I feel fine; I feel much more proud about what we accomplished with the Aux Cable Holiday Special: Fan Edition than this list of 20 Innerside Jokes. I really want to write a backstory for each Innerside Joke, but that will take quite a bit longer. Some jokes are easy to pinpoint a backstory for (see the comment section of Episode 161 for one example), others not so much. The thing with Inside jokes is that the backstory means so much more than the definition, so what I’ve done is just “laying a foundation” for the possibilities that may come later.
I’ll let you listen to Inner Tube Episode 200, read the new “Innerside Jokes” website tab (which I think is easier to read on mobile but looks cooler on an actual computer), read all of my comments to Inner Tube Episode 200, and look up the Bible passage about donkeys that Kevin mentions in the episode. Then tell me what you think of what I did.
Sorry, I just didn’t want people to have excessive expectations of the work I had done going into listening to the show.

(I had to look it up by searching for the “Toy That Saved Christmas”, because all of my other attempts to spell the name were perplexing to Google.)
