#thatmomentwhen you discover “Il Pulcino Pio” from its German translation ” and spend the next half hour listening to different translations of the song to find out how the animals sound in different languages. (The English translation could have been much better, which is probably why I have never heard the song before.) The song’s been out since 2012 and the Spanish translation has over 1,000,000,000 views on YouTube, but somehow I missed it entirely until today.

#thatmomentwhen never heard of it. I’ll have to look it up.
Also #thatmomentwhen you found out that you have a penny that’s 100 years old

Is it worth more than a penny? Cause that just wouldn’t make cents.

According to my research, a 100 year-old American penny is worth at least 10 American cents to a collector even if highly worn. I recommend hanging on to that penny. (That’s my two cents.)

It really doesn’t make cents…but apparently it’s worth anywhere from 45 cents to $45 (although it’s not in great condition so I would suspect it’s towards the lower end).

Sorry, I just didn’t want people to have excessive expectations of the work I had done going into listening to the show.

How long did it take to go through all that, and how does it feel to have helped with the episode?

I didn’t help with the episode at all. I helped with the new website tab and Josh & Kevin turned that into an episode all on their own. I did not expect them to do that.

As for time spent on that project, the actual definitions took probably tube hours in aggregate for me to compose and edit (much more time spent on editing than writing). It took additional time to select which jokes I was going to write definitions for, and there was a waiting period to hear back from Corban on what needed adjusting on my end to make the definitions receive Josh’s approval. (Of course, I’m not counting the hours and hours of my life that I’ve spent listening to and documenting the Inner Tube in advance of this project.) Once the website tab went public, I looked at it and gave additional feedback to Corban and he made adjustments during the weekend so that it would be ready for Episode 200.

How do I feel? I feel fine; I feel much more proud about what we accomplished with the Aux Cable Holiday Special: Fan Edition than this list of 20 Innerside Jokes. I really want to write a backstory for each Innerside Joke, but that will take quite a bit longer. Some jokes are easy to pinpoint a backstory for (see the comment section of Episode 161 for one example), others not so much. The thing with Inside jokes is that the backstory means so much more than the definition, so what I’ve done is just “laying a foundation” for the possibilities that may come later.

I’ll let you listen to Inner Tube Episode 200, read the new “Innerside Jokes” website tab (which I think is easier to read on mobile but looks cooler on an actual computer), read all of my comments to Inner Tube Episode 200, and look up the Bible passage about donkeys that Kevin mentions in the episode. Then tell me what you think of what I did.

    Well, you unwittingly helped.
I listened to the episode in before asking, so you don’t have to worry about spoiling for me at least, though I can’t speak for anyone else. I did actually look up the passage when they mentioned it on ‘Who Would Build the Roads’. It cracked me up so much.

😀 After reading that remark, I had to go back and see if there was any inkling of a super hero in the song parody of the incident…

Lol I did 13 pull-ups today but it’s on a machine that has leverage to make it easier, so I’m making up a weight because I’m embarrassed about mine, I look terrible, but if I were 120 pounds then I could put 70 on the machine and I would only be pulling up 50 pounds. ( that’s how much I pull)

#thatmomentwhen you accidentally discover that asterisks render text bold in the YouTube comment section, even though you probably knew that already and just forgot.

#thatmomentwhen you do a little bit of extra research and find that using underscores before and after text supposedly italicizes them in YouTube comments, and hyphens before and after make the text strikethrough.

That’s an HTML tag…I don’t know whether it does or does not work for YouTube comments.
