What brand is it? I have arbor and absolutely love it. I am very uncoordinated, but have skateboarded since I was like…8. Though I can’t do tricks. I just ride around.
It gets easier, I promise. It’s fun. More fun if you blare Ride by Tøp while you ride around..

My longboard (I got it for my bday last year, I had to help pay for it, but it was so worth it) (I put different wheels on it, the wheels ride like butter, so so smooth and beautiful)

I love both! Also, yeast, Google “hamboards”. If I didn’t have speed bumps in this area, I would buy one and ride it. Maybe I should move closer to the beach so I can ride it on a boardwalk. Though, they seem like they require more balance (something I have none of)

I don’t wear a helmet. Ever.
Though a car almost took my head off once. Last time I wore a helmet was…3 years ago. I was riding my Ripstick in the road and hit a rock or something and flew and crash and slid and got road rash on my hip…I hit my head so hard the helmet fell off as soon as I stood up. It probably saved my life, but I haven’t worn one since, it’s too hot and blocks my vision when I need to watch for cars.

Helmets are for the weak. If you know how to catch yourself and you don’t do any insane downhill riding you should be fine

I prefer longboards and cruisers to skateboards. The turning and riding is better in my opinion

From all the falling I’ve done so far it was always my knees and hands that caught the fall so I don’t know if I’ll ever need a helmet. Maybe gloves and knee pads but probably not because that costs money and I don’t want to spend money on being safe.
