It’s like a plate of nachos. A bunch of cheese on the top, then just chips, then some more cheese.

Everything’s good, and yes, you should record yourselves saying everything.

Should I record myself saying everything I already did but I didn’t label it

    That would be great.

Franklin, would you give us an update of how everything looks so far? I think knowing roughly where we stand on production will give us a little extra motivation to record more this weekend.

I’ll put a production report together.

    Segments:
    Kristen’s Questions
    Commercial (Pending)
    Word Association (Pending)
    Mason and Company’s Random Facts
Aux Cable Poetry (Aka Jeff Rick Rolls us): Jeff reads Kristen and Brooke’s parody.

    Outline:
Intro – ?Short Discussion? – Kristen’s Questions – Commercial – Word Association – Random Facts – Aux Cable Poetry – Outro
    Taken Kristen’s Questions
Who is Alexander Hamilton – Josiah
Why is it called a duffelbag? – Jeff
Is it Wrong to find people’s addresses on the Internet and mail them a Christmas card? If so…is it morally wrong or legally wrong? Does the answer change if it’s a homemade card that your drew? – Wiley Coyote
Was an orange named after the color, or the color named after the fruit? – Potato
What’s the opposite of opposite? – Potato

People Who Have sent in an ‘Everything’:
    Wiley Coyote
    Jeff Ross

    Notes:
We are really missing a transition from question to question. I think this issue should be able to be solved without rerecording for the most part. A little bit of dialogue introducing each new question might be all it needs, but I think that should be done after all the answers for questions are in. If this is done, it would sound more natural if there were at least two people doing this together, but that is not a must.
I have music for the intro, but it isn’t the music from the actual show, or even of the same grade.
The Random facts segment has only one recording for as of right now, but I would like a little more info on who will be involved.
The Outline is not set in stone. Some segments could be added, or possibly dropped.

    Thanks for the report, Franklin!

It could be that you have to record the transition, Franklin, since you are the only one who trubely knows how everything fits together. Otherwise an idea would be to play a certain sound effect to signal a transition (like Inner Tube Episode 087 does).

Do you want us to secure the actual show intro music from the hosts, or have us record ourselves doing it? Of course, we could go with more Christmasy-sounding background music for this holiday special, but the “Here, just plug in the Aux Cable; you’ll love it” etc. dialogue should be there in some shape or form.

You’re right Jeff, we need to do something akin to the actual show’s opening dialogue. I was also planning to have some sound effects to serve as transitions in a few places, so we’re on the same track there.
I’ll be ready for those recordings Mason.

I could do a Christmas special song possibly on one of my instruments? To play in the back ground? I could do a piano instrumental to play in the back ground

That’s a good idea, Rebekah. I also just sent Franklin a recording of my rendition of the show’s opening dialogue “Theme song” in case we wanted to edit together some FACES saying that part. You know, the
“Hey, listen to this cool, hip, rad song, man!”
“No way, man. We’re listening to a podcast instead.”
    “Wait, wait…which one?”
“Here-here. Just give me the Aux Cable. You’ll love it.”
“The Aux Cable has been plugged in and now so are you.”
    “I am?”
    “Yeah.”
    “Oh, okay. Sweet.”
part of the show. (Only I replaced “cool, hip, rad song” with “Christmas Carol” in my rendition, since it is a holiday special.)

I’ll try to get my “everything” recorded and sent in tomorrow. That report is definitely helpful.

Send it in, let Franklin sort it out in post-production.

    (Hey, those two posts rhyme!)

Do whatever you are comfortable with, but I’d say instrumental for sure, since that would be more versatile. You are more than welcome to do both.

    Oh okay sweet.

Oh and Franklin feel free to not use any of my music. And don’t feel like you have to. I’m sending it in to be helpful I’m not expecting anything extravagant from myself. Lol thanks!

If you feel real ambitious, I put the opening dialogue into lyric form with 9 syllables per line using an AABBCC rhyming scheme:
“Hey, let’s listen to this song on blast!”
“No way, man, it’s time for a podcast”
“Wait, wait, which one shall we listen to?”
“Just give me the Aux Cable. Thank you.
Now it’s plugged in and ready to go
Time to sit back and enjoy the show”

A song with words would not be used in the background. Not that it couldn’t be used elsewhere.

I have no idea what the AABBCC thing means lol

    #36274
    Jeff Ross

    “AABBCC” means there are six lines in a verse; lines 1 & 2 rhyme, lines 3 & 4 rhyme, lines 5 & 6 rhyme, but 1 & 2 don’t rhyme with 3, 4, 5, or 6, lines 3 & 4 don’t rhyme with 1, 2, 5, or 6, and lines 5 & 6 don’t rhyme with 1, 2, 3, or 4.

For comparison, a limerick typically has an AABBA rhyming scheme with five lines in a verse; lines 1, 2, & 5 rhyme and lines 3 & 4 rhyme but 1, 2, & 5 don’t rhyme with lines 3 or 4.

Hey thanks! Man did anyone ever tell you that you’re great at explaining things to people? I appreciate it usually people shrug me off and don’t like explaining things to me. I have a habit of over thinking things and then they make no sense

I just realized that if you listen carefully to the music that plays in the background of Matt & Ryan when they say “coming up, in this episode”, a nine-syllables-per-line set of lyrics would fit. It’s tough music to sing along to, but the words would fit.

Franklin, when I record my facts would it be more or less of a hassle to record each one separately, that way if you want to shuffle them around or remove any it would be easier… Or would that just be an annoyance? Idk, it’s why I’m asking… I’m bad at asking things… And for things… I literally have nothing except Kevin’s new shirt on my Christmas list and my mom is annoyed I don’t want anything…
