IT’S ALIVE!
Since the whole group knew about Kristen’s offer to Mason (for some reason) and Kristen let everyone go (for some reason), it became pretty clear that we can’t go forward with Mason being a double agent, but I thought it would create some interesting tension if we establish that Mason WOULD’VE betrayed the group because he wants his essence back that badly. Also, we were kinda starting to go in circles with the essence-collecting and who’s-playing-who thing so it was important to reestablish some of Kristen’s motivation.
I would’ve liked to perfect that dialogue, but with the way this website is set up you only get one shot, so I guess we’re stuck with what’s written.
Also, I don’t know how I missed this before, but the “everyone’s in a simulation” thing was a carry-over from Part One that got canceled. Peter was the only one who was ever in a simulation and now he’s out.
Yeah, it did kinda help get things back on track. Also, it might just be easier to work in the Word doc at this point. That way you can change stuff if needed or fix mistakes.
WAIT. WAIT WAIT WAIT. I can’t remember if we decided the spell cast in TOPHAT sucked all the essence out of the people there or just nabbed a part of it?
Who has essence and who doesn’t?
Based off of my memory:
Dawn doesn’t have Dawn’s essence, but she does have her essence, if that makes any sense
Manalive got caught by Kristen after she cast the spell in the room and definitely has no essence
Mason also doesn’t have any essence
Kye and Josiah should have essence, as well as Peter. Does the Phantom have essence? Does Troy? Does Douglas?
Brooke definitely has essence, as she originally was with Kristen, and so Kristen didn’t take Brooke’s essence away.
I’m taking a wild guess and saying SuperChris still has essence because he managed to scatter everyone. Where is SuperChris nowadays anyway?
Was Chris ever a Timelord though? I didn’t think he was, he had technology. And I guess you could say Peter has essence, but only cause he IS essence…
I think that both Chris and Douglas(/Franklin?) just have the tech to do what they have been, or are using magical items that don’t need essence. I could be wrong though.
What if…
everything had essence, and Time Lords have the ability to manipulate it?
But to manipulate essence of human, animal, or Time Lord is forbidden.
Kye’s shapeshifting manipulates her essence to mimic animals. This toes the line, but is allowed.
Dawn’s glowing is when Kristen manipulated the essence of light that bounces off of Dawn to reflect whatever emotion is churning within her body.
And what if essences are tied to names? Like if you KNEW the name of, say, titanium, you would be able to manipulate said titanium. But it’s hard to know names, and your average Joe doesn’t know any.
And if you knew the name of Time…you would have the ability to manipulate what happens.
That’s an interesting idea. But is just knowing the word ‘time’ enough for a Time-Lord to manipulate it, or would it be another word, not from our vernacular? When performing spells, Time Lords always use strange words, to put it simply. An example of this is when Kristen drains essence, she tends to shout “RHADOPHOBIA!”
It certainly seems like most of our essence manipulating spells are derived from fears and phobias. Which leads to the question, who was the first person to learn how to manipulate essence, and why is it manipulated out of fear? Is there some sinister backstory of the roots of the time lords that the leaders of the race kept secret, in order to keep the people from rebelling? Is it some kind of dark magic? Do we feed off fear? Some things to consider… Would make for some possibly interesting story interlude material at some point…
I do not have essence I am not a time Lord
I almost thought that was awkward potato the pictures are similar. Who the heck comes up with those profile pics they are crazy
So I thought that Kristen being held captive by the ACCU was erased from canon when we removed the part where Lord Kumquat was actually Chris, but now I don’t know what’s going on.
Kristen also just tried to bargain with Mason. It wouldn’t make sense if she’s now in Lord Kumquat’s clutches. Some characters may be further along in the story though. For instance, Franklin said to Peter that “You were in a coma for nearly a month” on their first encounter. In a later entree it is said that Brooke “had more than her share of walking the past month”, so it would at first appear that everything was lined back up again. But if you look at when Peter is in the Hotel simulation, it could be that he’s been in there longer than it appears, or that he was sedated for a while.
In the second entree it says that:
‘Mason stared back at Kristen, still dazed and nauseous from his transportation. Neither of them noticed the slight reflection of a camera lens coming from inside the bushes.
An Imperial Sparrow Droid (Model C3-8) broadcast live footage of the conversation to the bridge of The Paramount. Several Franklin’s were hard at work at the navigational devices … ‘
Later saying that it’s time to bring Peter out of the simulation. Thus, it would seem that unless everyone is inside a simulation, including the Phantom, Kristen herself is not in the hands of Lord Kumquat.
I therefor suspect that the woman unconscious must be someone else.
Lord Kumquat definitely is not Chris, but I thought that Lord Kumquat had Kristen in captivity?
Did I cross timelines by accident?
Son of a motherless goat, I crossed timelines by accident.
well, dangity drat it.
Maaayyyyybeee after Mason and co were sent back, Kristen got snagged by Kumquat? I don’t know.
It sounds like Kumquat’s first action after observing Kristen and Mason was to awaken Peter.
Can I edit my segment and make it make more sense?
Also, should Kumquat or Franklin be Kristen’s unnamed assistant?
I hadn’t decided so I left it vague.
I thought it was lovely dawn
HAHA! FINALLY THE POWER OF EASY TO POST MEMES HAS BEEN GRANTED!
I’m sorry, but I feel like this newfound power must somehow be written into the story… In some way…
Now I don’t have to assault everyone’s eyes by capitalizing Lord Kumquat’s lines. I can just do something like this.
