I have so many random songs I could suggest, Brooke… any specific genres?
I know you like songs that tell a story. So hear (does that count as a pun?) Is what came to mind. (From different genres)
Alyssa lies – Jason Michael carroll (country) (I’m so sorry)
Don’t take the girl – Tim Mcgraw (country)
All the faint lights – Steve moakler (kinda pop, kinda country. Christian song)
Hesitate – Steve moakler (basically all songs by him)
I still haven’t found what I’m looking for – u2
Addict with a pen – twenty one pilots (it’s not loud like their other music)
A car, a torch, a death – twenty one pilots (not loud)
Oh ms believer – twenty one pilots (such a good song)
Blue ain’t your color – keith urban (country, and so so good)
Can’t help falling in love -elvis
Fire away – Chris Stapleton (bluegrass)
(I got off the topic of “songs that tell stories” a tiny bit)
Nope, no specific genres! And thanks, Kristen! I’ll go through all those later!
Oy… I need to compile a list longer than Kristen’s…
Spark – Matthew Parker ft. Rapture Ruckus (pop/light EDM)
Wherever You Are – Matthew Parker (pop/light EDM)
Shadowlands – Matthew Parker (pop/light EDM)
Hold on Small One (Matthew Parker Remix) – Loftland (pop/light EDM)
Enough to Let Me Go – Switchfoot (Pop, sorta)
Bleeding Hearts – Matthew Parker (pop/light EDM)
The Worlds we Discovered (Matthew Parker Remix) – Twilight Meadow (pop/light EDM)
We Go – Matthew Parker (light dubstepish)
My Name is Eustace -Benjamin Dunn and the Animal Orchestra (Indy rock)
Jesus Freak Reprise – DC Talk (I don’t even know)
Rutela’s Wish – Zelda Reorchestrated (piano)
City of Blinding Lights – U2 (pop?)
Thunderstruck – Owl City (Pop/light EDM)
Basically, listen to Matthew Parker; start with his album Shadowlands. Coldplay’s album X&Y is also really good.
Awesome! Haha with a new school week starting back tomorrow, I’ll have plenty of songs to fill up what little free time I’ll have.
You are so close to graduating! You must be excited!!
I am! I have a very detailed countdown written out. I’m ready to be done with high school, ready to be at my college, but not ready to leave home. I’ve been blessed with some really great teachers and classmates, and I don’t want to leave them, but I’ll visit them whenever I come home. It’s bittersweet, but finishing the stress of senior year will for sure be sweet.
I think, although it may be hard, it’ll be worth it. You will learn so much, grow as a person, and kickoff your career. It’ll be empowering in the longrun, though hard in the short term.
If you keep that in mind, it may be slightly easier.
Also, if you like Celtic music, I suggest the album Lochanside by North Sea Gas.
Especially their song “paradimethylaminobenzaldehyde”. It’s hilarious. That whole album is amazing!!
I haven’t listened to The Gray Havens much, but what I’ve listened to is good, and they have all of their songs for free download on Bandcamp right now! https://thegrayhavensmusic.bandcamp.com/releases
(I found this via newreleasetoday.com)
…carrot is trying to one up me.
We fall apart by we are human is fanastic!!
Wow. I haven’t thought about that song in a while…
I was scrolling though my Amazon Prime Music that I have downloaded and was like “woah…I forgot about that”. For like a year, I listened to nothing but that song.
It was actually the subject of some ridicule in my household… I think mostly because “Isn’t it beautiful the way we fall apart?” sounds slightly silly out of context. It’s not actually a bad song, though. While you guys are at it, check out Wintergatan; watching their Youtube music videos is really interesting…
I listen to a lot of silly songs…
[Archibald voice]: STOP! BEING! SO! SILLY!!!
The change will certainly be good for me! But I’m subscribed to Wintergatan! The marble machine is sooooooo coooooooool! As for silly songs, I’ve been listening to Veggietales in the car for the past week and goodness, it makes me so happy. What are y’all’s favorite silly songs (or just Veggietales songs in general)?
I love my lips
Oh Santa (the irs part!!!)
His cheeseburger
The bunny song
The water buffalo song (when we are out to eat, my family calls me a water buffalo, because I will down the soda or sweet tea I get, because free refills….waiters hate me)
Belly Button
Biscuit of Zazzamarandabo
Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps
Modern Major General (sung by Archie)
Schoolhouse Polka
Promised Land
Salesmunz Rap
Gated Community
Pants
Cébu
I forgot Good Morning George.
Cebuuuuuuuuuu (1000 comment on the notforum)
From the ones you said:
Oh Santa
Gated Community
Belly Button
I Love My Lips
Schoolhouse Polka (I actually got to see, I guess you would call it a screening, of Sumo of the Opera when I was really little!)
But also:
The Dance of the Cucumber
Where Have All the Staplers Gone?
Hope’s Song (from An Easter Carol)
The Blues with Larry
Anything from Lord of the Beans
And Pizza Angel!
Anything from Veggietales is golden!!
Like Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler?
I was kind of annoyed by the plot of that one. Archie’s character totally should have been the villain!
Sigh. It’s called forgetting there’s a discussion board. And questioning whether or not I want to entangle myself in it. I’ve never used any sort of reddit board or discussion board, so I’m not entirely comfortable using this. So…..no guarantees that I’ll be an active user, but I will pop on occasionally. 😀
Dingitty dangit wrong spot you blasted comment!!! That was supposed to be IN CONTEXT you dratted thing! Now I make no sense and I’m rambling!
BOLSHEVIK (gasp. That was kinda close wasn’t it?)
^Did anyone get that reference??
Umm… as in the Soviets before they were called the Soviets?
