Tube things to try to get this thread back on track:

First, I just realized that Masøn’s friends’ band’s first single was a song that was played as an advertisement on my YouTube music app (because I listen to a good amount of Christian music there) and I intentionally went back, found the song and listened to it again because I thought it was really good. Now that I know they’re friends with Masøn, I am definitely looking forward to their future projects.

Second, the discussion of computers on the “Cool Music” thread reminded me of this advertisement from Microsoft that was so well-done, it made the top spot of YouTube’s trending list when it debuted. The combination of music and aesthetics make the video re-watchable, regardless of the actual quality of the product being advertised. (Tough for a product to live up to the hype after a commercial made this well.)

I’m still not sure which day Manalive was referring to . Was it “11-11-17”, “Saturday”, “the day Josiah’s dictionary was announced”, “the day the Oxford Comma debate made it to the Not-Forum”, “the day Josiah gave up and agreed to call it ‘AuxCon’ “, or some other day? All of those days coincided with each other, so I was hoping that Manalive would clarify which day he actually thought wouldn’t come.

He could prefer the Oxford Comma, despise the Oxford Comma, or express apathy towards the Oxford Comma. I found this handy video on the Oxford Comma debate, one that tries to explain its advantages and disadvantages without picking sides:

Since I read this thread without context, here is my interpretation:

“Auxcon: The sensation of being too tired to continue fighting. Example: ‘I feel Auxcon after debating with my brother over the importance of the Oxford Comma.’ ” – The lastest entry in Josiah’s New Dictionary, available for pre-order this Black Friday.

I did intend it as a pun; was there a different way of understanding what I wrote? Should I have worded it differently? (I went through several wordings before I settled on that one to try to make the pun. I am open to suggestions on improving my pun game.)

#thatmomentwhen You thought Kristen was going to say “Botswana”, which would have fit better with the Aux Cable and could be perceived as a “swan” pun. Not that a trip to the Bahamas is a bad thing.

Time for an official statement from the office of the HOWDAREYOU:

Praise God, the Only Omniscient One, for answering our prayers and helping Kristen to remember what she had studied while taking her exam!

Congratulations, Kristen, on passing your exam! Very pleased that you continued to try to improve your preparation each time rather than giving up or saying “I got a 79 last time and that’s almost 80 so I should be okay without trying.” Staying humble and pursuing excellence, acting in faith that God would bless your efforts, definitely paid off in this instance.

In honor of your achievement, an appropriate celebratory measure would be to drink some…

    …Gatorade. That’s a good thing to drink after completing a challenge. #StayHydrated

    My attire does complement
    So hearing Kristen’s compliment
    Gives me great confidence,
    An intended consequence

    I probably could keep composing
But I really should be going
Since my paycheck will be spoiling
Unless I actually get to moiling

I’m a little old-fashioned with how I phrase things, but I am just like Josiah: I get excited when Manalive. 😀

My church isn’t very big, but it actually has a security team made up of well-trained, sufficiently but discreetly armed ushers to help protect both the congregation and my Pastor from possible threats. The team comes complete with people who monitor the security cameras constantly before, during, and after service to help catch any potential issues early. Prayer in advance is our number one defense, but since we’re closer to Jesus’s return than ever before, it’s wise to have a plan in place should a lunatic decide that harming God’s people is a venture worth undertaking and override all sound judgment to attempt it.

Do your churches have security teams? Outside of my church, I’ve only seen them at Mega Churches with thousands and thousands of people, but I also know that some churches don’t have their security dress distinctly from the congregation, so it would be hard for me to tell.

Regardless, it’s a good time to pray for people who attend church. Also, it’s a really good time to pray for people who don’t attend church. We all need prayer. Ephesians 6:18.

I’m sure Masøn will hear Philippians 4:6-7 and John 16:33 at some point in his church over the next few weeks, to help alleviate the stress from the aftermath of this situation. Perhaps the rest of you will hear those verses too.

I’m hoping that Brooke’s spamming rampage will culminate with a coded message here, explaining the order to read the posts to discover a secret message.

Then again, I don’t know if she’s figured out how to encode her message yet. Maybe she’ll use a brand new code.
