Me: how old do you think I am?
Child 1: 29?
Child 2: 34?
Random child at the park: 14?
……
…………………
Woop.
#thatmomentwhen you are doing a driver’s ed test and
“Drivers ed students are good drivers.
A. Not always
B. Yes
C. No
D. All of the above”
You’re joking.
#thatmomentwhen you listen to heavydirtysoul in 2.0 speed.
(That’s hilarious, Kristen!)
Was that on the test for your permit? That’s a terrible question.
No, it’s part of the online drivers ed I’m doing so I can get my license.
Ah. You’re not old enough to skip getting a permit, are you? I know you wouldn’t be in [censored], but I don’t know what the laws are in [censored].
I’m not sure, but I’ve never driven. I only got my permit in January…just because I didn’t feel like I was mature enough to have it before then, and I hate local military home school laws. It’s stupid. The combination makes it almost impossible without paying $800.
So I was going to wait until I reached the age where I didn’t have to take drivers ed. But the law changed in December, reducing the age by a year, so I got my permit in January and not in July when I was planning.
My parents are requiring me do the online drivers ed that way I know the stuff on there and my parents only have to help me practice. The stuff on the online drivers ed is pretty stupid so far, except the random question it asks me about automatic transmissions which nobody in my family owns, so idk. I will be actually practicing driving soon…not looking forward to that.
You don’t have any automatics? I mean we only have one, but we’re not exactly normal on that front…
Wait. I meant manual. We don’t have any manuals. *facepalm*
I was wondering if that was the case. Knowing how to drive a manual is nonetheless valuable information.
I am curious as to why Kristen’s family has no automatic transmissions. Most cars in North America are automatic, because gas is cheap and most people need a car for transport, and for farther distances. (Historically, gas being more expensive overseas led to most cars in Europe and Asia being manual transmissions, since you can theoretically save more fuel in manual. It’s a much smaller advantage today than it was 20 years ago, as automatic transmissions have improved.)
I think a bunch of people might still drive manuals in Canada. Not sure of that, though.
I like sitting in manual cars, I don’t know why… Feels like it’s special since it’s getting rarer lol
Heh.
We have only manuals. I just….misspoke.
My friend Ken only drives stick though.
*Automatics
I enjoy sitting in them as well, I cannot drive them though
I’m going to have to learn stick after I get my license… unless I want to drive a minivan everywhere, which I really don’t.
Ken says it isn’t that hard, but he learned stick. He…wants to teach me…I would drop his transmission so I keep declining.
My sister has a manual, too.
If I am ever going to get the car I want, I need to learn manual
Oh?
I want a model T. And other antique cars.
Ah. Seems sort of impractical to me, but whatever floats your boat.
I would take them to car shows. I don’t know about engines and such, but antique cars are really cool to me for some reason.
If a dude proposed with a Model T and not a diamond, I would still say yes…probably faster lol (I’m joking) (somewhat)
I also want a somewhat older VW beetle and have it painted like Herbie.
Highest on my want list is a 1970 El camino.
