Manalive Smith, I have not yet met another human who knew of Anne Elisabeth Stengl before I talked about her (Except my sister, but she doesn’t count lol). We must talk more.
Manalive is currently gone but I have no doubt he’ll be willing to talk to you tonight. Also I know about Stengl because of manalive and my sister but I have never read any of her books If I do where should I start?
They are all stand alone, but I’d still go by release date (At least, that’s how I read them XD)
Mainly, if you have a chance to read Heartless, by all means do. However, if you see one of the others, like maybe Golden Daughter or Starflower, feel free to pick those up as well. The more you read of the series, the more the various holes get filled in. Does that make sense?
What would you like to discuss?
Casey Stengel, of course.
Ah, Goldstone Wood. I have heard speak of that.
Pray tell, what hast thou heard Josiah of the Carrot Stick?
It came up a lot in this: http://www.speculativefaith.com/silmarillion-awards-2016/
I don’t see anything on the silmarillion awards…maybe you saw in the Christy awards section?
Definitely suggest them!! I need to have fans to talk to about this!!!!
I HAVE BEEN LONELY FOR SO LONG!
If you go to the individual award pages, it shows up.
Stengl does do a very good job of telling intertwining stories. In the scenes that showed up in both Heartless and Veiled Rose the dialogue was absolutely verbatim.
Hmm…
I know Manalive!!! It’s so awesome π
But have you heard? She’s not writing the Tales of Goldstone Wood anymore D: Not for a while….
I have been made aware of these unfortunate circumstances. I was just having a conversation about them with my sister the other day. I sent her a link to this thread and I hope she posts.
If she does, I’ll have to create an entire new thread so we can fangirl over the series π
I would start a Wingfeather Saga thread, but nobody else would have a clue what I was talking about…
Sorry buddy. I’ll read that series this summer if I get a chance…
It is well worth reading.
I’ve been reading Goldstone Wood since I came across Heartless five or six years ago. This is the first time I’ve heard it mentioned outside of the official blog, though.
It’s nice to have you on the forum. Lista wouldn’t happen to be a Bulgarian word would it?
Which book is your favorite?
Not that I know of, Manalive.
My favorite would have to be Starflower or Draven’s Light.
Welcome to the Not-forum, Lista!
LISTA!!! HELLO!!! HOW DID I MISS THIS?!?!? I FEEL SO BAD NOW.
You can’t make me choose a favorite. That’s mean D:
Have you read a Branch of Silver, a Branch of Gold? That’s not an official tale, but it’s still great π
My favorite is The Great Coconut-Clunking Debate.
That’s not a short story AE wrote lol
What is that?
…carrot worries me
OH OH OH OH IN THE JUNGLE OH OH OH OH IN THE JUNGLE OH OH OH OH IN THE JUNGLLLLLE… DON’T YOU WANNA COME TOO? (OF COURSE WE DO) DON’T YOU WANNA COME TOO? (HAHAHAHA) DON’T YOU WANNA COME TOO? (LET’S GO!)
I’m so lost
