Josiah sat up with a head ache. He was in a boat, he felt ropes squeezing his wrists and ankles, and something over his mouth. He wondered where they were. Unable to sit up and barely able to open his eyes he squinted and and made out two figures along his side and a dark masked figure standing and guiding the boat with a long pole. As his vision focused he realized he was with Kye and Mason. The unknown masked man looked very determined to do… something. Kye started shifting. Josiah kicked her leg to wake her. If she could shapeshift into something smaller and escape the ropes and free mason and Josiah they could escape. She could even defeat the masked man. Josiah looked at Kye hoping to get his thought to her bye eye contact. She seemed to have the same idea but she acted like it was impossible. Kye struggled but realized that there was something different around her neck. A purple necklace. It must be restricting her powers. Who was this man? The masked man saw two of them waking.
“Aw so you have decided to join me now have you? In just a moment we will be to the place where I can teleport you. I am taking you somewhere. I’m afraid you won’t like it much. But maybe if I do it Kristen will love me!”
The masked man could hear Kye trying to speak so he removed their mouth cover.
“Who are you and why aren’t my powers working?” She said.
” I AM THE PHANTOM! At least that’s what people call me. Half of my face is distorted from birth. I put a power restriction on you. I knew you were a shapeshifter by the birthmark on your left ear.”
Josiah struggled but got his mouth cover off.
“Where are you taking us and why?”
” I am hoping to take you somewhere where my love, my Kristen can find you. She wants all of you, probably dead but I can’t do that. This is hard enough. But it’s worth it to get her to see me for who I am.”
” you want her to see her as someone who would give other people lives for his happiness?” Kye reasoned.
Mason is still sleeping.
“I suppose that’s what it is yes” the phantom said nonchalantly.
He guided the boat down a long tunnel made of stone walls. The water didn’t look too deep. Up ahead a green light and it grew and finally the boat was consumed by a warm glow of green light and
POW!!!
They were somewhere else. On a green hillside with Kristen sleeping in a hammock. The phantom laid a rose next to her. “Sleep well my dear and when you wake you will have my gift.”
The phantom turned to Kye and Josiah and gave them sleeping gas and they fell fast asleep…
