Kerfuffle Planning

Obviously what I thought would happen with the Inner Tube Episode 180 comment section did not. Nobody from Blimeycon has posted a comment yet. I was hoping that it would be the final stage of a two-part Kerfuffle, but that has not come to fruition at this point. We’re not even up to 16 comments yet. Consequently, here are my top five alternatives to propose:
1. We abort the mission and say that the Episode 179 Kerfuffle was sufficient for the Inner Tube.
2. We choose not to abort the mission entirely, but we lengthen the time scale from one week to tube weeks, since it may have some residual listeners who discover it later than the episode’s release week.
3. I go through the episode, moment by moment, post comments about it, and give some starting fodder to the Episode 180 comment section.
4. Every F.A.C.E. goes to the episode and carries out a discussion with many comments, drawing vague inspiration from the episode (similar to the WWBTR Kerfuffle).
5. A combination of alternatives 3. and 4. (possibly even combining 2.), in order to make an attempt at maximum comment output.

I’m not sure how to proceed, so I’d like to hear what you have to suggest. What I don’t want to do is to post a plethora of comments there and have no one respond. That’s why I’m asking you for input.

I won’t be posting anything until this evening at the earliest, and I will check here before proceeding.

What we tend to do is go on a short hiatus between kerfuffles. For one, it makes the kerfuffle feel… more special. Also, we need time to recollect ourselves lol. It would have worked a lot better if the people in the episode had commented, but alas, sometimes things don’t go to plan. I would say to possibly wait for an episode that just has LOADS of stuff to talk about. Who knows when it’ll be, but hey…

From looking at Masøn’s & Josiah’s comments, it looks like it’s up to me to get the ball rolling. I do think that there are “LOADS of stuff” in that episode that can be talked about. I just have to decide how to extrapolate the talking points in such a way that inspires comment responses. Hopefully I can keep them succinct, so that it’s easier to read and respond without taking up tube much time.

If I succeeded in my aim, you should be able to read many comments on Episode 180 by Saturday morning. If I didn’t succeed, you won’t see any of them posted. I’ll post a message here either way.

Tube updates in this message for you:

1. Episode 181 of the Inner Tube has been out for a couple of days, which means that the official conclusion to the Episode 180 Kerfuffle is only four to five days away. We have over 50 comments, so I am indifferent on whether we post any more comments, but I did want to provide this reminder to anyone who has not left a comment there yet, in case you still wanted to.

The official stats for the Episode 180 comment section so far:

Corban Garcia: 5
Manalive Smith: 1
Total: 51 comments

If more comments are added and the stats change, I’ll post a “final results” stats list on this thread when the Kerfuffle is officially complete.

2. Episode 181 released on the birthday of Corban Garcia (the guy who does the show notes for the Inner Tube) and he got a shout-out from Josh in the episode. If you didn’t get a chance to wish Corban a “happy belated birthday” but would still like to do so, the Episode 181 comment section would be someplace where you could leave a message and he would see it. We aren’t intending to kerfuffle that comment section, but leaving an extra birthday well-wish is completely appropriate.

With the release of Episode 182, the Inner Tube Episode 180 Comment Kerfuffle is officially over. No new comments were made since my last update, so I shall not re-post the stats. Episode 179 was more successful, but Episode 180 still ranks in the top 5 all time for Inner Tube comment sections, even if you ignore all of the comments that I made. Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment on both episodes. This was a different style of Kerfuffle than the previous ones y’all have done, but one more befitting to the Inner Tube podcast. You are still welcome to post comments on either episode, but I will not be updating statistics for doing so.

Now that the Inner Tube Kerfuffles are over, it will be a while until the next Comment Kerfuffle. Be sure to leave suggestions on this thread of where, why, and when to kerfuffle next.

I felt so much nostalgia reading through this thread and remembering the circumstances that brought me here to the Not-Forum, even though it hasn’t even been seven months since I joined. 😀

In honor of remembering the circumstances, I have prepared a speech. *steps up to podium to make speech*

Fellow F.A.C.E.s, it is with great fondness that I address you here today. So much has happened since I joined the Not-Forum; so many pleasant memories. Thank you for welcoming me into your midst. Some of my favorite moments have been serving as the H.O.W.D.A.R.E.Y.O.U. of T.O.P.H.A.T., contributing toward the #AuxCableFan podcast episode, and writing creative fun poems & parodies. It has brought me much happiness to interact with so many talented, expressive, and unique creatures such as yourselves. I hope that I am able to continue to be an active F.A.C.E. for many moments to come. May God bless the Not-Forum!
