I told my mom about this convo, and she agrees that we shouldn’t make any plans in stone, until we can verify that everyone involved is who they say they are. But she finds it funny that I’m the president of TOP-HAT
I think we all agree that making a podcast / communicating with each other more personally outside of this notforum is a thing of the future, but I don’t see any issue with organizing TOP-HAT, just for the fun of it. A Secretary of Defense is a good idea, I’m guessing some of us will have to wear multiple hats (pun intended) within the organization; I don’t know that it necessarily has to be the Chairman specifically. We should also have a Secretary of State who is in charge of diplomacy (marketing), and a Secretary of Education to teach our ways to new members of TOP-HAT
I agree. The TOP-HAT society can be a thing now. And until everyone is done focusing on our studies (or at least got it all under control or whatever) the podcast itself gets put on the back burner. I know, being a high school student, yall may not have a job and therefore not much money to be spending on necessary equipment and the website domain and such (though, all the cost wouldn’t be on your shoulders alone) there are kinks that need worked out, in tje long run.
But short term, the secret society can start blossoming and others (potential fans of the podcast later down the line) can be our loyal subjects.
So do we have more than four members? We kind of need more than that to hold elections…
And don’t think that elections are completely implausible. If my sister’s and I can hold formal elections for our stuffed animals, then we can hold elections here.
Dang it, that apostrophe on sisters shouldn’t have been there.
…yall had elections for your stuffed animals??
Whenever my sister and I played with ours (we played Barbies more often than not), it was more like a dictatorship.
Olive is in. She just don’t comment much
Well, a secret society sounds great… I mean, I’m great a keeping secrets if I do say so myself… They’ve only found, like, 2 of the bodies…
2? Dang how do you do it?? Like 4 of my bodies have been found…probably because I sometimes like to display them, so others can see my great work
To start with, does anybody have a problem with Kristen being President / think someone else should be President?
I’m going to take that as a no. Nominations for VP?
I nominate carrot and mason.
I nominate carrot
I’m pretty sure carrot is going to nominate mason. Then we are going to be tied. And I feel like yall are going to ask me to pick.
So, I know everyone has different skills and what they like…VP is an authoritative job; you would be my right hand, and would need to tell me if I’m doing something wrong or acting out of line, or if I need to make a really important decision.
So, if we tie, and it comes down to my decision, don’t let me put you as VP, if you know that you have other skills that can be used elsewhere and make much more sense.
If both of you don’t feel comfortable with being VP, that’s ok, we can have a revote.
(I do feel like VP should be someone that was part of the original comment kerfuffle, though)
I don’t want the position as VP. It’s kinda just like the comment number rank system. Carrot was 2nd. I was 3rd. You were 1st. You’re almighty president, Carrot is VP, and I am just there!
Mason, you seem like the person that would watch the world go up in flames…while you eat popcorn (that’s not supposed to be offensive, I would do the same)
Some men just wanna watch the world burn…
And actually, I would use the flames from the world to pop my popcorn first…
Obviously!
I would probably cook some bacon up
And s’mores!!!
Is the world on fire? Then…
After thinking about it some more, I was actually going to suggest that we combine the roles of Vice President and Chairman of the Board, or just ditch having a VP. Like, what would the VP even do except advise Kristen? The Chairman would have a more organizational role, and be able to balance the power of the President, so why would we need two people to do that?
Also, nomination is not the same thing as election. When we figure out what we’re doing with offices, we can start a separate thread, and the masses can vote until a set deadline. I also think that Mason and I shouldn’t vote, though… I’ve always thought that it was silly that candidates could vote in elections… I guess usually it’s their legal right as a citizen, but in a small election like this, I think it would be weird.
…or we could just do what we were doing already, since nobody seems to like my other ideas. 😀 Also, I just realized that Mason said he didn’t want to VP… would you have any interest in chairing / what do you want to do, Mason?
It’s not that I don’t like your other ideas. I was dealing with stressful work
I agree that vp isn’t necessary
Okeydoke. Are you bowing out of potential chairmanship, Mason?
Yup, sure
