Yes, but rather than wait for the bus to come around again, I went ahead and started walking. I was back before the bus was even scheduled to be around again. I then celebrated with crackers and cheese a banana and a cup of m***.
No, I was getting groceries, and I was finished shopping with 20 minutes to spare, but the checkout took too long, and I was to late for the bus.
I missed a bus.

(I might have gotten carried away.)
Peter thought that he was going to go crazy in his room by himself. He looked at the door hoping someone might come through when the side of the wall opened revealing Douglas. Douglas took a step in as the door shut behind him seamlessly.
âThere isnât much time. When we get out of this room, I need you to follow me. Weâre to attempt to obtain a *thing* and portal out of here. Are you ready?â
Peter thought a moment. He didnât know if he could trust him, but then he didnât think he could trust the Franklin folk. âYeah, letâs go.â
Douglas waved a card about the wall and the panel opened. He stepped inside and motioned Peter to follow, and they stepped into the hallway. The lights gave just enough dull yellow light to show Douglasâ outline. Douglas took a right turn and they came to a dead end. Douglas again waved a card and a panel opened letting light flow into the hall.
They stepped into another room that looked similar to the last, but had a cot rather than a chair. Douglas motioned for Peter to follow him out the door. They stepped out into a hall like the one Douglas had been in earlier. Peter followed Douglas down the hall. He wondered what Franklin wanted with him, and now might be the last chance he had to find out.
âDouglas, you were going to tell me what these, uh, Franklin Folk wanted with meâŚâ
âThey are not really the ones who wish to use you, itâsâŚâ his voice dropped to a whisper âAt first we called her Vala Muinthel, but we soon started calling her Valdra Muinthel. She wants to use your Time Lord Essence to power a â a doomsday device.â
Peter walked silently for a moment. He thought back to Kristen. She and Valdra Muinthel might be one in the same. âWhy are the Franklin Folk helping her?â
Douglas looked down for a moment before turning to face him. âThatâs a story for another day. Right now, we have toâŚâ Peter looked beyond Douglas. Franklin had discovered them.
âWhy is he not in his room? Tests are not to be conducted until tomorrow. Certainly, we all know?â
âAh. Oh yes, well Iâll take him back. Just a slight error I assure you.â
Franklin looked suspicious. âWe should make sure our guest has several accompanying him.â They started walking back to the room. âWe think the A.C.C.U. has been underperforming recently, and we think it might have negative effects on the mind. Perhaps we should visit the medical room after this.â
Douglasâ face lit up for a moment. A.C.C.U.? He hadnât heard about that, or at least he didnât remember it. That might be helping HER control them.
âYes. That would beâŚâ Douglas swung a punch at Franklin, followed by a kick to the stomach.
âHurry!â
Peter didnât need any further coaxing. He followed Douglas, but took one last glance at Franklin. He wondered if they were related. Peter could hear someone helping Franklin up. He ran faster.
Douglas took him into his storage room, and ran to the back and got his computer from the cereal box.
âWhat are you doing?â Peter asked keeping an eye on the door.
âIâm looking for something thatâs using a lot of power. There, there it is. How did I not know? Letâs go.â
He grabbed a sack, and they were running again. After about five minutes of running, Douglas led them to a large room across the room there was a strange machine, but off to the side there was a console. Sitting at the console was Franklin. He looked up, and saw them. He stood up and started coming towards them. Peter glanced at Douglas. He didnât do anything.
âWhat is our guest doing here?â
Peter was baffled. Surely Franklin knew they were trying to escape. Douglas didnât hit him that hard, did he?
Franklin was coming closer.
âJump him!â Douglas said as he did just that.
They knocked him unconscious, and Douglas ran to a panel and opened it up. He pulled out a box, and started messing with buttons on it.
âYou have to go ahead and get out of here.â The strange portal from his first meeting with Franklin opened up. Douglas handed him the box.
âGo, I have to take care of that.â He said pointing to the strange machine. He pulled a strange glowing ball from his bag.
Peter nodded backed up, ran toward the portal, and jumped. Into the wall. He staggered back and managed to regain his balance.
âWhat are you doing?!â Franklin had entered the room with another box, he must have shut the portal. He was accompanied by⌠another Franklin?! Franklin was on the floor still. Peter was confused, but he thought he might be starting to understand what was going on.
Douglas was starting to panic. âNO!! This ends now!â He said throwing the ball at the machine.
Franklin, or Franklins gasped. The ball hit the machine and exploded. They stood there in shock for a moment. Douglas threw another ball.
âWhat have you done? We donât have protection anymore!â Franklin yelled over the explosion.
The other Franklin, ran up to Douglas. Douglas swung at him, but Franklin blocked, and Douglas held his arm in pain. Franklin took this moment to knock him on the upside the head. Meanwhile Peter was charging at the other Franklin, but he sided-stepped out of the way and knocked the box out of Peterâs hand, and picked it up.
He looked at the box and gasped. âHe was going to send him to HER.â
âWell he wonât be safe here, we canât fix A.C.C.U. soon enough for him to be safe.â
Peter charged at Franklin again. âThen weâll send him somewhere else.â He opened a portal as Peter smashed into him. The other Franklin came and they pushed Peter in. As it was closing he could hear their faint voices for a moment.
âA.C.C.U. canât be fixed. At all. We’ll have use an alternative.â
âWe could have helped him discover his potential. We didnât even find his-â And that was all he heard.
