Yeah some extent but actual social anxiety is…much bigger and harder.
Waving Through a Window goes on way too long.
*shrugs* Okay. I guess some of us have symptoms, just not to a great enough extent for it to be proper social anxiety.
Yeah, we all struggle with lack of confidence and talking to people and such. But actual social anxiety is pretty severe.
Waving through a window…. But the key change… I might be too passionate about deh to talk about it with you…without getting a Lil angry. So I’ll stop.
I’m actually learning WTAW on piano right now… It’s kinda tough but really fun to play…
Oh, get angry at me. Do it.
Contradict me. I relish it.
Wanna talk about milk, carrot?
Um….nope. I don’t enjoy being angry.
Not really. We already did that quite a bit.
Oh well. I like debating.
Its not a good thing. And you aren’t attached to the musical emotionally in the same way I am so I can’t make…..an argument outside of the way I know I feel about it.
And you don’t have to justify your feelings.
Tell me hooooow you feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel…
To be fair, Carrot, WTAW is basically the ‘Main Theme’ of the play. They use it on transitions (which may help prove your point), but… Yes, they squeeze as much out of the song as possible, but does that mean it’s too long? Maybe, but it’s always skippable if your sick of it. ALSO keep in mind that in the actual play, Evan has a run-in with Zoe in the middle of the song, which lasts probably 40 seconds ish. This breaks up the song into two halves which cannot really be seen in the RECOORRRRDDDIIINNNGGG. So yeah, that’s what I have to say… Yeast probably has better arguments…
Um…..no thanks. I feel very deeply about certain songs for reasons…I wouldn’t discuss on a forum that is completely public to read….and I don’t imagine you sharing the feelings.
Yeah, I’m not necessarily going to debate everything you say, I for the most part like hearing reasoning, and making people think more about their feelings and thought processes.
I’m not saying it’s a bad song, I’m saying they repeat the chorus too much.
If you don’t want to, that’s fine. Especially if it has to do with things that are on a more personal level. But feelings? I have feelings? What feelings?
I can stand by you saying that they repeat the chorus too much… I wouldn’t mind more verses, tbh
Yeah, that’s true of most songs.
Oh wait, I misunderstood Yeast. Yeah, I probably wouldn’t share the feelings.
And just a note about the key change… key changes are often kind of unnecessary and don’t really serve any purpose except playing to your feelings.
I love key changes. They very rarely don’t seem cheesy to me. But in the song it sounds like the end, and then the key change happens and….its just… Beautiful in my opinion.
And that’s exactly what they were trying to do. In fact, that’s basically the entire musical. Them trying to play with your feelings.
Which is ok. And playing with your emotions… Makes it seem very heartless…they do play with emotions but…the writer experienced those emotions…so they feel real.
Eh. Whatever.
Yup, I can’t argue with you on that point. Though if I was watching the show, my main feeling would probably be annoyance at the idiocy of characters.
I prefer that people don’t toy with me, whether they felt strongly about something or not.
I don’t think their goal is to toy with you. I’ve written a fair amount of music before. If a song sounds “sad” and uses things that generally are considered sad its not because I would want ppl who hear it to be sad, it just reflects the way I felt.
I suppose.
I’m glad yall are done bickering.
None of you are right and none of you are wrong. Feelings have no right or wrong typically. If you like a song, you like it. That’s that. If you dislike something, you dislike it. Nobody he to justify why they dislike or like something.
Now, can we keep the bickering off of things that can actually hurt someone’s feelings and onto things like milk and…idk…grits?
Nobody *has to justify. And I’m not sure I entirely agree.
