Also, if you haven’t picked up on it yet… If the episode is written by Steven Moffat, it is basically guaranteed to be a good episode, but also a very important episode. Steven Moffat’s episodes tend to progress the overall story of the season. So always be ready for something in his episodes.
Ooh, good to know.
I’ve gotten to see a couple Baker episodes. Those were fun.
I haven’t seen season ten yet, but, Mason, the penultimate episode of season nine is one of my all time favorites.
Have you seen the old BBC version of The Silver Chair? Baker played Puddleglum and was fantastic.
I’m showing how ignorant I am on the subject of Doctor Who. Woo.
I just finished Season 9, haven’t watched season 10 yet cause it’s not Amazon Prime yet, but knowing context… And yes, Season 9 overall was just kinda great… It was very consistent…
I’ve been really pleasantly surprised/impressed with the amount of Christian themes I’ve found just in the first few episodes of Season 1. As secular, strange, and often disturbing as the show is, there’s still some really interesting parallels between the episodes and what we believe as Christians. Whether it’s the Doctor quoting Ecclesiastes or Charles Dickens realizing there’s more to life than just the physical, it’s encouraging to see real values seeping into the show, no matter how different and bizarre the context is.
One theme that is a constant from season to season is compassion. The eleventh doctor says that it’s forbidden to ever interfere with the course of history, that is unless children are crying. When the twelfth doctor is helping an injured enemy, the enemy accuses him of acting out of guilt and the doctor responds with, “I’m not here because I feel guilty. I came because you were sick, and you asked.” There’s a fourth doctor episode where Tom Baker is given an opportunity to destroy all Daleks before they ever hurt anyone, and he doesn’t do it, because “If someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you and told you that that child would grow up totally evil to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives… could you then kill that child?… Do I have the right?” I find that pretty cool. It’s also pretty cool that he’s one of the only sci-fi / fantasy heroes I can think of who carries a screwdriver instead of a weapon.
Everyone, please ignore the time I posted. I did go to bed at a reasonable time…but…here I am. I’m slightly not happy about this
KRISTEN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLEEP IS IMPORTANT WHY DO PEOPLE NOT SLEEP ANYMORE?!?
No. I am not ignoring the time you posted. Thanks for pointing it out.
I went to bed at like 10. But MY STUPID BRAIN decided 330 was a good time to wake up, and not to sleep again til 4. And then get up at 630 for babysitting. And even the 10-330 sleep was…iffy.
Lovely.
Oh yes.
Affirmative.
Aww, sorry Kristen. Brains can be dumb sometimes.
It’s ok. Maybe I will sleep tonight. *shrugs*
BREAKING:
Does anyone live near Cleveland OH?
DM me if you do.
I’m 1,364 miles away… So no, I do not…
I…no sorry.
Nope. I’ve always wanted to visit Cleveland though. It’s on my bucket list. What brings you there?
eheheheheheh….not a reason I would like to say publicly. There’s been enough health drama about me of the late XD
Oy. Yeah, I’m a bit far from there.
Breaking: I’m up again at 430. It’s 450 now though.
Yesterday the boy cats, Baldemort and Emanon, got fixed. The vet and Internet said that they would sleep all day afterwards. They would be lazy and we should not allow them to jump and such.
They were like…insane. running and jumping and just being…idk. everything except chill. (Note: the breed is allergic to ketamine so they didn’t use any. Did I spell that right? Does ketamine make them chill? Did they give our cats crack???)
Well…at 10, I went to bed. Decided that…if they were gonna keep me up all night, I might as well be relaxed.
I went to sleep…I woke up at 430 to both boys laying right beside me in bed (their purring woke me up). They were fast asleep. When they saw I was awake and rolling over and such, they decided to get down.
I don’t think that’s a bad reason to wake up…but I have to get up at 615. I’m going to go savor this last hour…
Note to Carrot: I typed this without glasses on. Don’t be too harsh
Looking back…I shouldn’t be allowed to type without my glasses on.
I’m babysitting now. Last day. And then work tomorrow. But I have COFFEE
You actually did a lovely job considering. It was mostly lack of capitalization.
That was autocorrect not doing its job. I saw it…I ignored it.
Thank you
Breaking: I’m going to a concert tomorrow!!! Jamie Grace, Matt Maher, Tedashii, Britt Nicole, and Colton Dixon!
I’ve seen them all except Britt Nicole in concert, they’re… Well, I always prefer live shows than I do recordings, and they’re great!
I love colon dixon
