002: Puns, Networking, and Living Without Internet

Matthew and Ryan argue over the pronunciation of “niche” and give advice on how to make good puns, how to network for YouTube, and how to find activities that don’t require the internet.

Special thanks to Gabe Miller for our intro and outro music!

  1. A niche pronounced like Matthew said is like a recessed area in a wall to display something of importance. Or at least that is what I think. I didn’t look it up.

  2. The pronunciation of niche is *not* a subjective debate. Niche is a French word, it doesn’t rhyme with “itch”, it rhymes with “quiche”. That’s no less debatable than the pronunciation of the French word “beautiful”. We can’t start saying you can pronounce words however you want, and make that “acceptable”. This word in particular is a pet peeve of mine. I’ve never heard anyone outside the USA say “nitch”. It’s just plain incorrect 😛

Now I better listen to your actual episode xD lol.
